Duke Energy, NRC investigating reactor irregularity

Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspectors at Duke Energy’s nuclear plant in Oconee County noticed unusual vibrations from cooling pumps in the plant’s Unit One on April 12, prompting Duke Energy to launch a thorough investigation and analysis of the problem in cooperation with the commission, Duke Energy Spokeswoman Sandra Magee said Wednesday.
