East Clemson Christian Fellowship will sponsor a benefit for Ken Manley, Jr. and his family. Ken was badly injured in a fall earlier this year. Fair Play Fire Department will host a bluegrass gospel festival at Earles Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center starting with a hot dog sale at 4:30 p.m. Singing will start at 5:30 p.m. with Flat Creek, Promised Land, Tugalo Holler, Oconee Bluegrass Boys, The Marksmen and Curtis Blackwell with Charles Wood. Utica Baptist Church in Seneca will host its 11th Annual Sportsman’s Wild Game Dinner in the Family Life Center of the church. This year’s guest speaker will be South Carolina native Chris Wells from “Anglers for Christ.” He is an avid outdoorsman and is the self-proclaimed “America’s bass pro wannabe” and has been co-host of the “Fishers of Men Outdoor” show on the Fox Sports Network. Tickets are $8 each or $50 for a table of eight. Exhibits and demonstrations begin at 3 p.m. with dinner served at 5 p.m. All area men and young men are invited. Scenic Heights Baptist Church in West Union will be holding a Relay For Life benefit from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come early for good bargains and stay for lunch and enjoy a hot dog plate with slaw, chips and a drink. Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the day for a variety of homemade baskets with the drawings at 2 p.m.

The Central First Wesleyan Church is sponsoring a symposium addressing End of Life issues in the Fellowship Hall. The day will begin at 8:45 a.m. with coffee and the discussions will continue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A light lunch will be served. Participants will include Drs. Pat Johannes and Stan Rampey speaking on medical issues; Scott Dover and a probate judge addressing the legal issues; Pastor Fred Andrews speaking on spiritual issues and many more. The Bessie May Stribling Easter Dinner will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Richland Presbyterian Church, 821 Poplar Springs Road in Richland. There will be roast beef, ham, rice, gravy, vegetable, salad, rolls, dessert and beverages. There is no charge and no tickets are necessary. This is for the lonely, unemployed, needy, homeless and disabled. Transportation will be available from “The Chapter House” parking lot across the street from the Seneca Presbyterian Church. The bus will be leaving every 30 minutes beginning at 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Transportation will also be available for the return trip from Richland to Seneca.


Seneca Presbyterian Church will begin a new schedule of services today. Coffee and refreshments will be available at 8:30 a.m. with a new contemporary worship service at 9 a.m. There be will be relevant Bible-centered messages with spirited worship music in a casual friendly atmosphere. Nursery care and K-3 classes will be provided. Sunday school for all ages will be at 10 a.m. with a traditional worship service with choir and organ at 11 a.m. The church is on the corner of Oak and South First Street in Seneca.
